With this webinar we want to present the findings of a study prepared by PowerShift, which provides an analysis of the climate impact of the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) between the European Union and Canada, which entered into provisional application on September 21, 2017.
\nWe want to present an analysis of the variations of trade in goods between the EU and Canada, with a focus on a selection of high-impact commodities. We will take a look at the rules, institutions and decisions that govern the climate policies of the trade agreement. We will give an insight on the work of CETA committees and dialogues that have a strong climate impact. Lastly we will estimate the implications of CETA's investment provisions regarding flows, stocks and investment protection.
\nThe study will be published some days before the webinar and sent to the participants before the event.<\/p>\n

The findings of the study will be presented by the authors Thomas Fritz and Alessa Hartmann, Trade Policy Advisors for PowerShift e.V.<\/b><\/p>\n

The study is commented on by MEP Saskia Bricmont, The Greens, member of the European Parliaments\u00b4s Committee on International Trade (INTA) and an expert on CETA.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
