The publication of the Conceptual work New Economy<\/a> makes it clear: \u2018Green\u2019 hydrogen from 100% Renewable energy can contribute to a climate-friendly economy if use is limited and the areas of use are clearly prioritised politically.<\/p>\n

The massive hydrogen ramp-up planned by industry, the EU and the German government threatens to have climate-damaging effects \u2013 the planned demand will not be \"green\" for the foreseeable future. New natural gas networks are currently being legitimised as allegedly \u2018H2-ready\u2019 \u2013 a strong exaggeration that could mean a fossil lock-in for decades. Last but not least, planned hydrogen export megaprojects in the global south threaten to continue colonial injustices: Resources such as money, land, fresh water and raw materials are reserved for the growth of European industry rather than for a local, democratic energy transition. Such developments must be prevented by strong legal regulations.<\/p>\n
