EU trade and investment agreements with Vietnam<\/h4>\n

In recent years, the European Union has negotiated a free trade and investment protection agreement with the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. However, as the two treaties are highly controversial due to the precarious human rights situation in the one-party state, their ratification was delayed.<\/p>\n

But now the time has come: The agreement will be voted on in the EU Council in the week of 25 June and can then also be ratified in the European Parliament.<\/p>\n

On this occasion, the AbL, attac Germany, the Naturefriends and PowerShift have today published a new FactSheet with which we point out critical points in the agreements. These mainly concern the human rights situation and the difficult situation for trade unions, as well as environmental aspects. Trade and investment agreements are inadequate to improve the social and human rights situation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
