Webinar: Climate Impact of the EU Trade Agreement with Colombia, Peru and Ecuador

With this webinar, we want to present the findings of a study prepared by PowerShift. The study provides an analysis of the climate impact of the EU Trade Agreement with Colombia, Peru, and Ecuador, which entered into force provisionally since 2013 (with Ecuador since 2017).

We will present an analysis of the variations in trade in goods between the EU and the Andean countries. A particular focus lies on a selection of high-impact commodities. Furthermore, we will examine the rules, institutions, and decisions that govern the climate policies of the trade agreement. We will provide insight into the work of the agreement's committees and dialogues that have a significant climate impact.

The findings of the study will be presented by the authors Thomas Fritz and Alessa Hartmann, Trade Policy Advisors for PowerShift e.V. 

The study is commented on by MEP Catarina Vieira, The Greens, member of the European Parliaments´s Committee on International Trade (INTA).
