Transparent Civil Society Initiative

PowerShift supports Transparent Civil Society Initiative, an initiative for transparency among non-profit organisations. Here are ten points of information about PowerShift's goals, where the funds come from, how they are used, and who the decision makers are:

3. Information on the tax advantage

  • We are responsible for the promotion of science and research as well as the promotion of people's and vocational education and training, including student assistance, according to the last exemption notice we received from the Tax Office for Corporations I Berlin, StNr. 27/675/55937 of 26 October 2021 exempted from corporation tax for the years 2018 to 2020 pursuant to Paragraph 5(1)(9) of the Law on corporation tax and from business tax pursuant to Paragraph 3(6) of the Law on trade tax.
  • Membership fees are deductible like donations.

  • 2024 setzte sich das Team von PowerShift aus 14 Teilzeitkräften zwischen 25 % und 75 % zusammen (umgerechnet 8,5Vollzeitstellen) und wurde unterstützt durch fünf freie Mitarbeiter*innen. Zeitweise kommen auch Praktikant*innen hinzu: team

PowerShift is an independent, non-profit association and finances a large part of the projects from pots of political education work and private foundations, as well as from the contributions of the sponsoring members, donations and foundation funds.

Einnahmen 2024

Die Einnahmen im Berichtsjahr 2024 betrugen insgesamt 849.773,27 € Euro. 90 % davon stammen aus projektabhängigen Fördermitteln. So bezieht der Handelsbereich ein Großteil der Förderung von der Landesstelle für Entwicklungszusammenarbeit (LEZ), von den Fundern for Fair Trade sowie durch Kofinanzierung über Kooperationspartner*innen. Der Energie- und Klimabereich finanziert sich vorwiegend über die LEZ. Der Bereich Rohstoffe wird  aus Mitteln des Förderprogramms entwicklungspolitische Bildung (FEB) sowie einer Förderung durch die OLIN gGmbH  und der European Climate Foundation (ECF) finanziert. Ca. 73.000 Euro konnten wir über Spenden, Fördermitgliegschaften, Mitgliederbeiträge und Bußgelder generieren. Die restlichen Einnahmen entstanden durch Publikationsverkauf, Teilnehmer*innenbeitrage und sonstige betriebliche Erträge, wie Erstattungen über das Aufwendungsausgleichsgesetz oder aus Rücklagen.

Ausgaben 2024

Die Ausgaben betrugen im Jahr 2024 insgesamt entsprechend der Einnahmen 849.773,27 €. Der größte Posten im Gesamtbudget war mit etwa 67 % der Personalaufwand. 2024 wurden davon 14 Mitarbeiter*innen in Teilzeit finanziert. Etwa 22 % der Ausgaben ging in projektabhängige Ausgaben wie Honorare für freie Mitarbeiter*innen, Sach- und Reisekosten. Die restlichen 11 % wurden für allgemeine Sach- und Vereinskosten, wie Miete, Bürobedarf, etc. verwendet.
