Berlin streets for everyone!

Berlin "Autorunde" publishes new position paper
Since the beginning of 2019, PowerShift has been coordinating the "Autorunde" as a new networking of environmental and mobility policy initiatives in Berlin. At the heart of our common demands is the vision of a climate-friendly and livable city. It is not car traffic, but people's needs that determine the use of public space. You can read about how this can become a reality in our position paper.
We are building on the Mobility Act passed by the state of Berlin and want to further develop the transport transition in Berlin. The Mobility Act for the first time the priority of walking, cycling and public transport. For this, the currently completely preferred mode of transport 'car' must be pushed back. The dominance of car traffic not only reduces air quality, safety and quality of life, but also captures public space and makes it less usable and unattractive for non-motorists. Berlin must "liberate" itself from the car as a private car - and redistribute public space.
Our standard of success: The halving of the number of cars in Berlin every 10 years and thus the creation of new mobility and living spaces for the people of this city.
