In mid-December, the global gas lobby will meet in Berlin for the World LNG Summit.
Although LNG (liquefied natural gas) is one of the main drivers of the climate crisis and natural gas production is responsible for human rights violations and environmental destruction worldwide, the assembled corporations want to continue - and are still celebrating.
But corporations that risk our lives for their profit must reckon with our resistance: Together with guests from all over the world, we want to stand up for a renewable, just future for all at a counter-gas summit on Sunday and a large demo on Tuesday (with a shameful award ceremony).

Many exciting workshops on LNG will take place on Sunday, 8 February, in the premises of the Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung, Straße der Pariser Kommune 8A in Berlin.
Neelke Wagner/PowerShift's workshop on LNG, hydrogen and synthetic gases will start at 1 p.m.

LNG terminals are not a bridge to the renewable future. Their conversion to hydrogen terminals is neither as simple as claimed, nor is synthetic methane a contribution to climate protection. Instead, their excessive expansion cements the consumption of natural gas in Germany and Europe. We explain why.
